Damian Martinez-Reyes

AI-driven Optical Biology Lab

José Damián Martínez Reyes is a PhD student in the HenriquesLab at ITQB NOVA, specializing in the application of super-resolution microscopy to study viral pathogen interactions at the nanometer scale. His doctoral work focuses on the critical early stages of viral infection including viral entry mechanisms, viral uncoating processes, and host-pathogen interactions at nanoscale resolution. As co-instructor for the SMLM workshop, Damián brings expertise in advancing single-molecule localization microscopy techniques for virology applications, bridging cutting-edge imaging technology with fundamental viral infection research.
